How are Meal Scores Calculated?

Explaining what makes a meal score & how to make high scoring meals

How is your Meal Score calculated?

Simply put, your meal score is a weighted average of the individual food scores for each ingredient in your meal.

The weight of each ingredient depends on the number of calories it contributes to the overall meal:

  • An ingredient with a low food score that makes up a large portion of the meal's total calories will pull the overall meal score down.

  • For example, 100g of lettuce will have much less impact on your meal score compared to 100g of cheese, because cheese has a much higher calorie density.
