If the ZOE app matches a barcode or photo to the wrong food, you can correct it straight away and let us know so we can fix it in the database.
Manually correct the food entry
After a wrong match, you don't need to delete the meal - you can swap the food directly:
Tap the incorrectly matched food in your meal log.
Tap Edit or the pencil icon.
Use the search bar to find the correct food by name or brand.
Select the correct item and save - your portion size and meal time will be kept.
Tip: For packaged foods, scanning the barcode usually gives a more accurate match than a photo. If a photo matched the wrong item, try tapping the barcode icon on the camera screen and scanning the product instead.
If the wrong food keeps appearing for the same scan
If the same barcode or photo repeatedly returns the wrong result even after you've flagged it, try the following:
Search for the food manually using the search bar instead of scanning.
Check that your app is up to date - database corrections are delivered with app updates.
Close and reopen the app, then try scanning again.
If the problem persists after trying the above, contact us through the app and include the product name and barcode number (printed on the packaging). Our team will then assist you further.
