Having all the good microbes in the blood sugar control cluster is a brilliant result and a great foundation to build on.

While the presence of these beneficial microbes is a very strong and positive indicator, it doesn't mean you're guaranteed perfect glucose control. It’s a great start but our metabolism involves many organs and our dietary and lifestyle choices are important to maintain good health across all of these.

Scientists at ZOE and around the world are still working to understand whether our gut bacteria play a causal role or whether they are a ‘middle man’ in health processes. We continually update our dietary advice based on the latest science.

Its best to take a holistic view. Your glucose control is influenced by many interconnected factors, including your specific food choices, lifestyle habits (like exercise and sleep), and your body's unique metabolic responses. The presence of these good microbes means you have the right kind of gut ecosystem to support good glucose control, but you still need to nourish that ecosystem and live a healthy lifestyle for it to function optimally.

Think of it this way: you have a well-tuned engine, but you still need to put the right fuel in the tank for it to run smoothly.
