At ZOE, we've categorized fats into 5 quality classes for your convenience: bad, poor, average, good, and excellent. 🌟

Lower quality fats include food sources that ZOE has classified as containing bad, poor, and average quality fats.

Here are some examples:

Bad quality fats:

  • Processed meats, like sausages, bacon

Poor quality fats:

  • Some oils e.g. palm oil and coconut oils, which are high in saturated fats

  • Many cakes, pastries

  • Fried foods, such as fried chicken

  • Fatty cuts of red meat, like steaks

Average quality fats:

  • Full-fat dairy products like whole milk, butter, and cream

  • Poultry with skin, such as chicken or turkey

  • Eggs

Good quality fats:

  • Oils like vegetable oil and rapeseed oil

  • Fatty fish like salmon, mackerel, and sardines

Excellent quality fats:

  • Extra virgin olive oil

  • Plain nuts and seeds, such as almonds, walnuts and chia seeds
