The daily breakdown plot in the Improve screen shows you what proportion of your logged total energy is coming from ultra-processed foods each day over the previous week, starting on Sunday.

To give you an indication of whether your daily intake is appropriate, we have color coded the bars:

  • Dark green means you have smashed your target

  • Light green means that you are doing well but haven't quite met your target

  • Yellow means that your intake is poor

  • Red means that your intake needs attention

Remember, in the case of ultra-processed foods low values are better!

Example for understanding your daily breakdown plot

The illustration provided below is an example plot displaying ultra-processed food intake over a previous week, based on meal logging data. It's essential to note that this plot is not a reflection of your personal data, but a generic example to aid in understanding your own plot displayed within the Improve tab of the app.

Observations from the example plot:

  • On Sunday, the intake of ultra-processed foods was relatively low and therefore considered good (light green bar).

  • On Monday, the intake of ultra-processed foods was low and, therefore, considered excellent, (dark green bar).

  • On Tuesday, no meals were logged (grey line).

  • On Wednesday, meals were logged, but none of them were ultra-processed foods, which is excellent (dark green line).

  • On Thursday and Friday, the intake of ultra-processed foods was too high, which is not great (red bar).

  • On Saturday, the intake of ultra-processed foods was a bit over the target (yellow bar).
