How to identify foods rich in high quality protein?

When selecting your protein sources, we recommend that you favor:

  • Beans and legumes.

  • White meats like chicken breast and seafood over red meat.

  • Leaner cuts of meats e.g., sirloin, minced lean pork or beef or venison, skinless duck.

However, no food is off limits - the most important thing is to eat a healthy, varied diet that suits you. You can always check the scores of high protein foods and meals to help you assess how good they are for you.

Supplements or special ‘high protein’ foods are not necessary for most of us. If you are eating a varied diet with a portion of protein per meal you are likely eating plenty of protein.
