Collect the proper amount of the specimen. Neither too much nor too little should be collected, as either will result in an insufficient amount for proper analysis with the preservative liquid.
Store the specimen at room temperature. Refrigerating or freezing the sample will alter its properties, making it unsuitable for analysis.
