How do I navigate the homescreen of the ZOE app?

New to the ZOE app or just need a refresher of how to navigate the app? Here's your guide!

When you first open up the ZOE app, you will be met with a screen that looks something like this:

Here is how each section of the app breaks down:

Home Tab

The Home tab is the one you initially open onto and will contain various information, including:

  • Daily logging streak: This is indicated in the top left corner of the screen, displaying how many consecutive days you have been mindfully logging meals. You can also tap this to look back through your previously logged meals.

  • Ziggie: Located on the top right-hand side of the screen, Ziggie is our in app nutrition coach and can be used to ask nutrition questions to.

  • Logging Information: Including your Daily beans, Plant diversity, nutritional macros this will show your current days food logging information.

  • ZOE Foundations: As you move through the ZOE path, you will unlock levels linked with the eight ZOE foundations, giving you access to short in app videos.

  • Meals: This section shows your current days logged meals and allows you to add in any meals you may have missed from earlier in the day.

Diet Tab

The diet tab displays everything related to your diet quality & daily scores.

  • Diet Quality: This provides you with the diet quality score from the previous day. You can also scroll back to days before using the left & right arrows in the top right corner.

  • Meals: This shows the meals that were logged on the previous day.

  • Food Quality & Macros: This section provides a breakdown of previous days macros & food quality including fermented foods, gut boosters eaten and plants.

  • History & Trends: This section shows your history & trends of Diet Score over a weekly average, Monthly & Six Monthly average, so you can track your progress over time.

  • Tips & Recipes: This section provides recipes to try and tips related to your diet score, including ways to improve.

Recipes Tab

The Recipes tab gives you the chance to explore some great recipe ideas, with all the scores personalised to you. There are two main sections to this page:

  • Discover: This is where you can discover & explore new recipes in the app, With options around breakfast, snacks, dinner, desserts and more available! You can also use the "filter" at the bottom of this tab to filter by diet preference, cooking time & nutritional purpose.

  • Saved: At the top of the recipes tab, tap on the "saved" section to load up your saved recipes, a quick way to access your favourites!

You can save recipes from the discover section by opening up the recipe you like and tap the ❤️ Heart symbol in the top right of the meal, this will then be accesible in future from your "saved" recipes tab.

You Tab

The You tab contains various aspects to explore and ways to manage your ZOE account.

  • Last Saved: This section contains your favourite & saved foods, tap on all favourites to see them all and make any changes.

  • Rewards & ZOE Foundations: The ZOE Foundations are the bite-size video chapters shown on the home tab, viewable and available to watch back at any point in time. Once you've compelted all the videos in a section, you will recieve a badge in the rewards section.

  • Health: This contains your history of gut health test results (if purchased & completed) and your related gut boosters & suppressors. You can tap into the gut health tab to view your previous & historic results, good & bad gut bugs, as well as reviewing your results summary, ordering another test or following the link to our podcasts.

  • Support: This section contains a shortcut to your Membership Portal via the "manage subscription" button, a way to refer a friend, a contact us option if you need to speak with the support team and a section for the FAQ's.

"+" Food Logging

The + button is how you log food in the ZOE app. There are multiple ways to log food within the app:

  • Camera: On initially tapping the + button, it will open up the camera; you can use this to log using a picture of a meal, or to scan a barcode.

  • Recents: This will open up a menu of your most recently logged meals to use again, this is searchable.

  • Saved: This will bring up foods you have previously saved as favourites, again this is searchable.

  • Describe: You can use this option to describe your meal and the app will generate the meal based upon your description.

  • Search: This allows you to search the food database in full to find the right food by name, to start building your meal.

  • Gallery: This allows you to upload an already saved picture of a meal to log it into the app.

Please note that due to phone setting, you may need to scroll along the bottom bar to access all of the different logging options.
