I’ve taken a course of antibiotics recently. Should I still do my gut health retest?

Yes, you can and should proceed with your gut health retest.

We understand that antibiotics can temporarily change your gut microbiome, and your retest results will reflect its current state. This provides a valuable snapshot of your gut health, even if it's in a potentially affected state. There's no reason to delay your retest.

We encourage you to take the retest as soon as possible after receiving your kit to get the most accurate and timely snapshot of your gut health. Please be aware that if you choose to delay testing, we are unable to replace any expired test kit components.

It's important to know that taking antibiotics recently can impact your gut microbiome, which might influence your results. It's possible that your score might be lower compared to your initial test due to the impact of antibiotics.

To gather more information, we'll ask you to complete a questionnaire in the ZOE app regarding your recent antibiotic use. This will help us provide you with the most relevant insights.
