Let’s talk about logging! 📲
Logging food is optional once the 3 days after your testing day are over, but if you do continue to log, you’ll get:
1. ZOE Food Scores for all your logged meals when your results are ready
2. More personalised recommendations you can use to improve your diet
3. Feedback in your Improve tab at the end of each week once your results are ready. Here, you can see how you’re doing for each category/ food group, receive suggestions for improvement and set targets for future weeks.
Tips to making logging easier
We understand that logging can be a bit tedious sometimes. Here are some tips to make things a little easier:
- 📸 Photo log- Simply take a photo of your meal and the app will generate an ingredient list and scores. It’s such a great time saver and is scarily accurate! Give this a try if you haven’t already. You can tap on any ingredient to swap it out or edit the quantities if they need adjusting.
- 🗣️ Try the “Describe my meal” function- You can even use the “voice to text” button and just tell the app what you ate. It works well for restaurant meals when eating out.
- 📖 Use our food and recipe scanners - Scan a page in a recipe book or the barcode of any food item to check how they score for you ahead of time.
- 💛 Save regular meals by tapping the heart icon in the top right. This saves them into ‘My Recipes'. Then, if you have leftovers the next day, you can add them far more easily.
Once you have your results, you’ll be able to search for many more foods and recipes, as well as having access to a list of high to lower-scoring recipe and meal suggestions for you. You’ll also be able to filter these by dietary preferences e.g. ‘vegetarian’, ‘high-protein’, ‘under 30 minutes’, etc.
To make the commitment of logging a bit more manageable, try:
1- Logging all your meals in advance (e.g., in the morning before breakfast) and making any necessary edits later. This also helps you identify areas for improvement ahead of time.
2- Logging all your meals retrospectively at the end of the day, so you only need to do it once a day.
