Understanding Your Libre2+ Sensor

Libre 2 sensor troubleshooting and tips

⚠️ This article applies only to the Libre2+ sensor. It does not apply to Libre 3 or any other models.

🔄 Connection Drops: What to Know

Occasionally, your Libre2+ sensor may lose connection. This is usually temporary and resolves on its own.

What to know:

  • The sensor automatically tries to reconnect.

  • During the disconnect, real-time data may pause temporarily.

  • The sensor continues collecting data in the background and stores up to 8 hours of readings.

What to do:

  • If the sensor doesn’t reconnect automatically, scan it manually to restore the connection and recover stored data.

⏱️ “Glucose Reading Unavailable” Message

Sometimes, you may see a “glucose reading unavailable” message. This can happen due to:

  • Temperature or humidity changes

  • Very high glucose readings

This is usually temporary and resolves within ~10 minutes.

What to do:

  • Do not remove the sensor immediately.

  • Wait 1–2 hours. If the message doesn’t clear or changes to “replace sensor,” it may be time to contact our support team.

  • Please wait to hear back from us before removing your sensor.

🛌 Pressure on Sensor Causing Low Readings?

If your Libre2+ sensor shows unexpected low glucose readings, it may be due to pressure on the sensor, for example, while sleeping on it.

These readings:

  • They are often false lows

  • Disappear quickly once the pressure is removed

  • Do not show up in your historical data

What to do:

  • Consider whether there was any pressure on the sensor.

  • Wait 10 minutes, then scan again.

  • If readings return to normal, there’s no need to contact support or replace the sensor.
